Nyezhov Posted October 9, 2018 Share Posted October 9, 2018 I want to go watch the Buffalo races on Oct 23rd. Im digging around Agoda, but wondering if anyone has a favourite hotel in Chonburi town? I dont really care about cost, could be cheap, could be expensive, as long as its a good value for money and located near Town Hall? RickBradford Posted October 9, 2018 Share Posted October 9, 2018 Two very central ones are the Chon Inter and the Eastern Hotel. The Eastern is right next to the bus terminal for Bangkok buses, but is rather old, run-down and has a slightly gothic feel to it. The Chon Inter is newer, and just across the road. Those are the best options if you don't want to travel too far from the centre of town, a not very pretty place. The alternative is to have a beachside holiday in Bang Saen, about 10kms away. It's much nicer, and there are plenty of hotels there. Note that there are no taxis in Chonburi town. You either have to get a 'mo-sai' or a 'songtheo' to get around. PM me if you want more info.
