The Prime Minister will open a complaints centre at Governent House

Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont has chosen February 14th as the day to officially launch the Government Complaints Centre to accept comments, suggestions and clues to bureaucratic red tape and corruption.

Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Khunying Thipawadee Meksawan (ทิพาวดี เมฆสวรรค์) said the Government attaches much importance to good governance in the administrative sector. It promotes public participation by providing people with channels in which they can easily inform the government of their suggestions and complaints. The Minister reaffirmed that the government will provide assistance to all in an equal, transparent and fair manner.

The Office of the Prime Minister has therefore entered into cooperation with the TOT Co. PCL and Thai Post Co., Lt. in opening the channels for such contacts between the people and the government. The Government Complaints Centre to be opened on Wednesday will operate the channels, all under codename 1111. Those channels include an official website www.1111.go.th, a telephone hotline 1111, P.O. Box 1111 and the Service Centre 1111, where people are able to pop in to hand their complaints.

Khunying Thipawadee assured that the information received will be treated with secrecy and all complaints will be addressed properly.

What they don't tell you is that all complaints about the current military dictatorship will be put in the round file (waste basket) while all of the complaints about Toxin's democratically elected dictatorship will be blown up all out of proportion and broadcast nationwide...which is what they mean by "addressed properly"..which is as it should be....hahahhahahhaha

Govt. to open four channels to take calls of complaints

The government has prepared to provide four channels for the general public to voice their complaints and inform the government of corruption clues.

Today (February, 14), Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont will preside over a ceremony to hand down policy on the development of the government’s complaint system. The premier will also officially launch the four channels which are the 1111 hotline, www.1111.go.th, P.O.Box 1111, and the 1111 Counter Service located at the Government House.

People can also send their comments on the new charter via the four channels.

Thailand launches government complaints office

BANGKOK: -- Thailand's Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont on Wednesday officially opened the Government Complaints Centre, a service designed to provide channels for the public to voice their complaints and grievances, as well as provide their comments and suggestions on general issues.

The centre was initiated by the Office of the Prime Minister in cooperation with telephone service provider TOT (formerly the state-owned Telephone Organisation of Thailand) and Thai Post, the country's postal organisation opening four new channels for contact between the public and the government.

The four channels to be all operated under the code number 1111 include an official website www.1111.go.th , a telephone hotline 1111, P.O. Box 1111 and Counter Service 1111. The Counter Service 1111 is for an individual person or a group of people to walk in and present complaints and petitions in person.

The prime minister said the complaint centre is one among many other channels for the government to help solve the people's problems and relieve their difficulties. Other agencies working in a similar manner to resolve the problems include the Judiciary, the Supreme Administrative Court, the Ombudsman, and the Attorney General as well as the General Inspectors of ministries, he said.

The Government's complaints centre will prompt problems to be addressed more quickly, said Gen Surayud.

At present, according to the premier, issues regarding national security and stability are so more complicated. Therefore, agencies responsible to deal with related problems need to listen to the people, heed their advice, and realise their concerns.

Any problems will be resolved efficiently and quickly if all parties concerned coordinate their work systematically, linking to one another as a network. Launching the complaints centre will be a good start for different agencies to operate under the linking network and share the same database, he said.
