Simple situation is that I have to make a sudden business trip.  Will be back with one day to get an extension on my 90 day non-immigrant O.  However, learned that my wife has to be present for the 60 days.   She will be out of town on business, but returning the middle of the following week.  

 

Does anyone know if I can get a 7-day extension, and then return to turn that into a 60-day?

The 7 days is to leave the country after a extension application is denied. It cannot be extended for 60 days.

No you can't. There is no 7 day extension.

 

They might issue the extension without your wife being present if you can provide proof of her business trip/reason for not being able to attend.
