Find our son’s killer or else, say parents

The parents of a 24-year-old college student, who was shot dead at his parents’ food stall in Bangkok, have urged police to make an arrest within 30 days or they will file a complaint at the Dhamrongtham Centre.

 

Kamonwich Suwanthat, a fourth-year student at Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok Uthenthawai Campus, was shot dead on October 12 while helping the family sell food at the entrance to Soi Nawamin 57.

 

His father Narudom Suwanthat, said on Monday he also believed that Kamonwich’s murder might stem from the fact that he was a friend of another murder victim, Thanit Kanlahasunthorn, 23. 

 

Narudom has also asked for police protection for his son’s schoolmates at the temple where the son’s funeral was held.

 

Thanit was fatally stabbed to death on Prachasongkroh Road in Bangkok’s Din Daeng district on April 15, 2016. 

 

In July this year, his father Supachai Kanlahasunthorn, 52, jumped to his death from the eighth floor of the Criminal Court building after the court announced it would give the benefit of the doubt to the case’s sole defendant Nattapong Ngern-khiri and acquit Nattapong of murder.

 

Meanwhile, Pol Maj Gen Theerapong Wongratpitak, chief of Metropolitan Police Sub-Division 4, said the Kamonwich murder case investigation had already progressed “by 50 per cent”.

 

He said police had not rule out any motives, although they were giving more weight to the fact there was a dispute among rival college students. They were especially focusing on the fact that Kamonwich might be a witness in the Thanit murder case and was therefore killed to hush him up.

threatening the largely useless thai police, making a deadline and threatening making a complaint; Wow, bet they think they have power; police are trembling in fear...

His parents are threatening to make a complaint, are they serious?

The bib will just laugh at that threat, only way the police will act is if/when their palms are filled with money.

perhaps if they pay the right people they will make progress, perhaps some burminas will be the perpetrators again

I doubt they think they have power as you stated.. maybe they think and hope that this is their only choice to keep the murder of their son in the public's thoughts.

Such friendly School gun competition, warming up for the Olympics? No neighbors complaints? No school authorities seeing brutal beating marks? Child had no trust in reporting these beatings to nearest police? What's wrong here forks? I'm bored of reading this travesty of justice every day but then again. I'm not the one being beaten.

 

As usual in Thailand, the victim's family, if they are not rich and have not bribed the proper officials, would obtain justice only by reporting publicly the laxism of the police on social media all over the country and the world....only then will things (perhaps) move.....sad criminal justice system.

R.I.P. Young man. If the local police station had a reliable LIO (Local Intelligence Office) the staff ought to know local gangs and their members.
