Receiving DHL packages from China

Featured Replies

Hi all,

A general question - has anyone had any problems with any part of the process of receiving DHL packages at your residence in Thailand, specifically, posted to you from China? Conversely, anyone had any problems sending goods abroad using DHL?

I’m probably going to be getting small DHL boxes of goods from China on a semi-regular basis, say, monthly. I’m wondering if anyone in the forums can reassure me there won’t be a problem, or caution me, perhaps on the basis of problems they’ve had (eg, package opened then re-sealed). Nothing illegal or sensitive - just small plastic goods.

I’ll also be using DHL to send goods abroad.

Any comments welcome. Thank you.

No problem boths ways always date as stated both DHL and TNT

Judging by the posts I have seen over the years, anything connected to DHL is likely to have "fees" of some description added to it.

Having said that , it does depend on what it is, and the declared value.

No prob. Only prob is import duty [emoji41]

Just use China post airmail, you can track it like

DHL,and never once have Customs opened packages

or wanted fee,s,but many reports of couriers like DHL

where you always seem to be hit with charges.

You're right, if they're applicable they're called import duties and the courier companies officially do the job of collecting the duty and passing it on to Thai Customs.  A detailed receipt is provided if duty is charged.

Small additional fees are applied for doing that job, (usually around a couple of hundred baht) which is billed as their disbursements if duty is charged and collected.
