The wife has just brought home a large plastic container, the kind they used to sell sweets of out decades ago in the UK, except it seems to be full of popcorn with bugs swarming all over it!

 

When asked she said she couldn't explain it.

Simple, the bugs, probably ants, are attracted by the sweet/sugar etc. Normal in this climate if not stored correctly.

Harmless bugs that wont leave the container strangely enough, supposed to be lucky for the house.....

You could tell her: Throw them out or I will go.

I've moved them into the bathroom for now, but I know she will bring them back into our bedroom. However clean they are I am just not comfortable with hundreds of beetles breeding just a few feet from my head at night.

If she's not asking you to eat it, I wouldn't worry about it.

According to my Thai GF, it's supposed to bring good luck. I got a blank stare when I asked how.
