90 day report plus retirement renewal

Featured Replies

hi.... A bit of confusion this morning i think maybe my brain hasn't woken up yet lol.

Just got back from Jomtien immigration 90 day report, my next report date is 26th Jan 2019......my retirement visa runs out on the 31st Jan 2019.

I will probably renew my retirement visa first or second week in January 2019.

My confusion and thus question to you guys is:  After renewing my retirement visa, do i still go and do my 90 day report on the 26th of January (2019) or will a new 90 day ticket and date be issued with the new retirement visa.

many thanks in advance........hope my brain wakes up soon..... ????

The short answer is "Yes".

I was in exactly the same position last year. I did my 90 day report first, only took a few minutes, then I rejoined the queue for visa extensions. Saved an extra visit to immigration.

A longer answer is - it depends...!

If I'm doing my 90 day in my local I/O and the next report would be due after my extension expires, they will shorten the 90days to be due on the extension expiry... (If I do the 90 day on line, then the next one is due after 90 even if it's after my extension).

Normally you can only do your 90-day report up to 7 days before it's due (except when doing it on-line when it MUST be submitted 14-7 days before it's due).  But if it is dated the same as your extension, and you do your extension say 30 days early, they will still accept a new 90 day report.

My recommendation would be that if your 90 day is due anytime in the period that you are able to do your extension (i.e. from 30 days before up to expiry), or even upto a couple of weeks after you do your extension, you ask your I/O if they can also accept a new 90 day report at the same time.

This is the experience I've had with my local I/O.... but as we know everywhere is not always the same.

You can do your 90 day report up to 15 days early. You could do your extension and the report on the same day.

A extension of stay application does not reset the 90 day report date. Your report date will not be changed when you do the extension application.

It can be done up to 15 days before your report date not 7 days. It was changed from 7 days to 15 days several years ago.
