When can I do my second extension?

Featured Replies

Last September-ish I got a Non imm-O based on marriage.  Last December I extended the visa by showing the 400K and all the other stuff.  To extend the visa a second time is all the proof exactly the same as the first time?  The money and the home photos etc?

At what point can I renew?  It expires on 25th of December but it would be convenient for me to do it quite a while before that.  Does it have to be within 30 days of expiry or something?

Thanks a lot as always.

All the same as last time.

Apply 30 days before expiry or in a lot of cases you can do 45 days early.

BTW you are not extending a Visa.

I am not sure what you mean by this. What is the difference between extending my stay and extending my visa?  Don't I need a valid visa to go in and out of the country?

no,  when on an extension of stay you need a re-entry permit to enter Thailand, you should never need a visa again while you remain on yearly extensions.

Which immigration office do you use - they vary from the official 45 days before to 30.

You don't have a visa, you have an extension of stay.

To go in and out of the country you have a re-entry permit.

Your Visa died long ago.

You are extending your temporary permision to stay in the kingdom.

Cool, I didn't know that.  I haven't left the country since getting this visa and don't really intend to any time soon so I haven't looked into any of that reentry permit business.

Fantastic, thanks a lot.  That is what I was hoping for.  Is this official?  I have not been able to find it anywhere online.
