Leicester players will fly out to Bangkok straight after their Premier League clash with Cardiff on Saturday//EPA

LEICESTER players will make a 12,000-mile round trip to Bangkok next week to attend the funeral of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Boss Claude Puel is set to lead his team on an emotional pilgrimage by flying out straight after tomorrow’s game at Cardiff.

Senior players told Puel they wanted to be at their late owner’s week-long funeral ceremony in Thailand, which begins tomorrow.

The Frenchman said: “I want to give the opportunity for players and staff to go to the funeral. We will see the logistics.

“Of course, the players want to go and support his family — his wife, son Top, all the family.

Nice gesture, but a week-long funeral will drag on.

Hope the lads behave themselves on this trip.

You beat me to those words by a split second, probably same thoughts of many TVFers too.

If they don't (behave), we're sure to be reading about them right here, this time next week.

Don't worry, I can think of a couple of so called UK newspapers who will make it their mission to print something true or not.

I am sure the junior players will be warned in no uncertain terms that respect must be shown, if they take them.

The senior players without doubt will be respectful and those guys have women throwing themselves at them wherever they go so I expect the naughtier side of bangkok would be of no interest to them.

(well, i doubt they'd record it anyway)

Nice gesture from club and players.

Such a long trip not easy at this time in the season, if at all.

Means no time for training next week and little preparation for the next game.

Same as last time but they'll have to deposit their phones and other gadgets at the reception.
