Video: Drunk Russian couple launch unprovoked attack on Indians in Pattaya

A Russian couple have been arrested after attacking a group of Indians in Pattaya.

 

The couple, described as being in their 30s were said to be drunk at the time of the incident, set up on the group of Indians near the intersection at Pattaya Clang and Second Road on Saturday night.

 

Witnesses said the Russian man approached the group of Indian tourists and began trying to punch them, while the woman started shouting “Russia, Russia, Russia” before trying to attack them with a glass bottle.

 

Thai media reported the attack was completely unprovoked.

 

Local motorbike taxi drivers and other tourists came to the assistance of the Indians, forcing the Russian couple to flee the area.

 

However, they were pursued, with a group of taxi drivers detaining the couple until police arrived and arrested them.

 

Once in custody, the Russian couple were uncooperative, even bagan spitting at officers, and would only speak to confirm they were married.

 

The Indian tourists, who declined medical treatment, filed a report with police.

 

The Russian couple remain in custody and will meet with a representative from the Russian Embassy on Monday.

Funny they would come to Thailand to bash people of color. They can do that at home and not get arrested. 

I'm being a tad flip but how can this be seen as anything other than a racist hate crime?

I quite enjoy asking Thais if they like Indian people. Nearly all reply they dont. I then ask them if they are Buddist.

Nobody ever said that Thailand is racism free. Different topic really. 

She's a disgusting Russian lowlife. Spitting at people is about as low as you can get on the evolutionary scale, and would constitute a serious assault charge in many countries. I'd like to see her try that once she's in the slammer.

That's an interesting point. In the video the Thai people don't seem to be reacting much at all to the spitting. In the west and I assume Russia that would be a level 10 diss. You could probably defend a murder if someone did that to you. I guess lucky for them they didn't stick their bare feet in faces.

Watch some of the British cops on the beat series and see what they have to put up with on a Friday and Saturday night with drunks staggering out of pubs. Makes Pattaya look pretty damn good.

Really the Russian woman was disrespectful to others, she should be jailed for her behavior.

She behaved badly spitting to the Police Officers and volunteers, fortunately, the good police officer handled the woman respectfully, if in another country, that woman would have been slapped and would remember that day for rest of her life.????

For the record, it is such bullies that should be deported the next day and banned from re-entry. They cause much more harm to the image of the country, then a bunch of illegals either teaching or cooking food in Nana !

Thai women generally are a lot more polite, even the prostitutes. 

I have often thought that is why I see so many Brits marry the Thai bargirls. 

The Thais are a lot less likely to smoke ciggies, take drugs and drink too much also. More ladylike and certainly a lot more feminine.
