Nong Khai to be packed with tourists this weekend

BANGKOK, 17 November 2018, (NNT) - The northeastern city of Nong Khai has expected to welcome throngs of tourists this weekend as fog continues blanketing the Mekong River, making it even more beautiful and attractive to outsiders.

Hospitality facilities and accommodations are booked up throughout this weekend in Ban Muang sub-district of Nong Khai which has seen continuous precipitation for the past week, adding humidity to the area and creating a beautiful site of the Mekong River shrouded in mist. 

To welcome the tourists, the local residents have improved the landscape of a campsite which can now accommodate 1,500 people. Meanwhile, new infrastructures are being constructed to support the increasing number of tourists. 

In addition to accommodations, transportation services are provided as tourists can enjoy their rides to natural attractions on “Rot-E-Taek” or makeshift vehicles.

I went last year but mist seeing it.

Well, it will improve the view, cannot see all the rubbish floating downstream ......

I live in Nong Khai, no fog anywhere yet. Give it another month and then head to Sangkhom for fog viewing from over the fog ????

Never a good sign, "improved" usually meaning cut down any trees or flora, put in as many lights and as much paving as possible. Camping among 1,500 people - nothing beats getting away from the crowds.
