Hi,

I have some questions re: my plan to renew my Non-O (marriage) and passport which is full. I guess I am just looking to confirmation what I plan to do will work.

Situation is current Non-O expires Dec 21st 2018, and my current 3 month entry is up to Nov 29th 2018. I have 1 empty page left in my current Australian passport.

What I am looking to do is (a) go to local Nonthaburi immigration this Thurs 22nd Nov and extend my current entry by 60 days (b) go to the Australian embassy this Friday 23rd Nov where I have an appointment to renew my current passport, takes 3 weeks apparently (c) when I receive my new passport go to Savannakhet to apply for a new Non-O (marriage), probably in the week between Xmas and New Year.

I guess my concern is will there be any issues extending my current entry by 60 days then exiting Thailand after my current Non-O has expired? Also will I be fine exiting the county with 1 passport that will have my 60 day extension in it but that passport will have been cancelled as I will have received a new passport. I am just presuming I can present both and that it should be fine.

Please let me know if you think there are any flaws in my plan.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

No problem leaving the country after getting the 60 day extension. Your visas expiration date means nothing once you are in the country.

The best thing to do after you get the new passport is to go to immigration to have your stamps transferred rather than waiting until you leave the country. You would only need your new passport when you leave the country.
