Deputy national police chief General Srivara Ransibrahmanakul on Wednesday announced the success of an operation ahead of the Loy Krathong festival in confiscating 165 guns and 1,147 bullets from 152 suspects.

He told a press conference in Pattani that the November operation also netted 1,798 drug suspects along with a large batch of narcotics.

Srivara also said he had earlier obtained arrest warrants for eight suspects in two national security cases.

For the April 7 small bomb attacks on 18 locations in Pattani, the court approved the arrest warrants for five suspects – one of whom was already arrested. For the seizure of 965 bullets from a forest in Nong Chik, the court approved arrest warrants for three suspects, one of whom was already in custody.

It is high season thus the need for a higher amount of photo ops stories to make all the tourist feel safe as long as they stay off the roads.

In the wake of what the call "election", I wonder nobody was arrested for intention to form an alternative armed council for peace and order.

His wife put him up to it. She is tired of BJ getting all the accolades. "Nag, nag, nag, Srivara, nag, nag! Where is your good picture in the news? Look at at BJ, he always looks good. I have shame when go to market. People say I the wife of fat idiot bow down to panther killer. Do something!"

Looks like some group operating as Copycat Police. ????

And you'll see all the weapons on display here for sale at next Friday's Ninja Market in Chonburi.

Absolutely nothing to do with a Loy Krathong crackdown or protection of farangs... just PR photo op.

How about some photo ops showing the weapons being destroyed, or that asking a bit too much.

Another quality photoshoot.

A lot of the policemen you see in these photos look as if they need a few sessions in the gym.

Been in America, Canada, Mexico, France. Republic of Ireland and never noticed any

overweight policemen, yet Thailand is full of them.

Too much coca cola (money)

They will need bigger bikes soon, with wider seats.

Or trainer wheels to stop them falling off.

Thailands finest...
