t101eddy
Hello! Did any Thais from this forum visited Romania? If yes, what visa did you request? For short stay, there are two options: tourist visa and visit visa, which you can request if you have an authorized invitation from a Romanian citizen. On the website it says that for visit visa the applicant does not need to show any proof of money and accommodation, if the Romanian person undertakes in writing in that invitation that will sustain the Thai person. When calling the embassy, they say that the person needs to show proof of money and everything else from the tourist visa. Then? What is the purpose of that visit visa? What's the difference? Any advice? Edited November 22, 2018 by t101eddy
Donutz
As far as I know Romania's visa rules are basically the same as the Schengen rules, in anticipation of joining the Schengen area at one point. This would mean that a visitor visa is for visiting friends or family (private accommodation and/or the host acting as a financial guarantor ) and a tourist visa for people who sleep in a homeland have no guarantor.
