Visa Frenzy!

Featured Replies

Hi there all, this is my first entry, so will be brief and to the point.

I'm certain this subject has arisen a million times, but i'm getting to the point of frustration.

I've been married now to a Thai National, for nearly a year. Went to Laos to get a 'Non O' visa, no problems. Now apparently i have to show 400k in a joint bank account with my wife in order to extend a further year? Ridiculous!

Will land title deeds, or simalar proof of ownership be suffice?

Whats the next step to extension, if the cash is not in a joint account? Is it possible to extend without all this rigmarole?

Warm Regards :o

You have old information. 400k in a bank account does not buy an extension of stay anymore. You and wife must have 40k monthly combined income as proven by tax records over the last three months (for Thai income) or Embassy letter/supporting documents (if foreign income). This is the only way you can extend (for more than 60 days) if male and under age 50.

You can obtain a multi entry non immigrant O visa valid for one year of 90 day stays from some Consulates (but very few in the immediate area - Singapore requires bank account proof of 400k to issue visa now). But perhaps KL is still an option.
