wgdanson
Strange that if you Google Alexander Albon, his father is mentioned and named, but nothing about his mother, who , I guess, is Thai. He is of course, represented as a British driver, as Mr Woods is an American golfer.

Quote ‘We are satisfied she acted alone and her sole motivation was one of excessive greed and the desire to buy luxury goods and live an opulent lifestyle.’ To some people money just can't be dirty: This kid grew up in a privileged environment; all the connections (and money) it takes to get this high in motorsport today, were based on his mothers greedy, fraudulent activities. No matter how talented he is, it is disgusting he is allowed to receive such a high honor. 3

He is hardly a child now, is he? If you follow F1, today more and more young privileged 'racers' are buying their seats. This is leading to a spate of spoiled brats displacing real talented (but poor) drivers. Lewis Hamilton came up the hard way, it must really irk him to see how easily corrupt money can be used to buy a seat. Must find a way to denigrate him - either by saying he is British and not Thai (he's just as much British as he is Thai) or by attacking his parents and upbringing. It is shameful and disgusting really. 2

You are quite right, you don't get a sniff of driving in a professional racing team if you have no talent. However, there are talented drivers who, without the financial backing, do not get anywhere near to a seat. It was reported that, in 2016, Lance Stroll's father paid a total of $80,000,000 to secure his son's seat at Williams F1. How much to get a seat in F1
