Gen Prayut open to political offer, but in no hurry to say yes

It shouldn’t be a surprise if Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has decided which of the political parties he will align himself with. But for the time being, he still wants to keep his cards close to his chest.

When pressed by reporters again for an answer on his political future, Gen Prayut had this to say: “Let them approach me first, and then I’ll decide…The answer will come when it’s time to nominate candidates for prime minister.”

Gen Prayut was referring to nomination of candidates for prime minister by political parties that will be competing in the upcoming general election.

Translation:- "I'm going to see how the opinion polls go once (if) I allow campaigning to start. Then I can hop aboard the correct wagon just before the polls close."

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

As above, & no doubt will accept any nomination 'reluctantly' as he is a man of the people.....

Perhaps not the man of the people, but certainly the man of the influential ones.

The only item that matters.

My post was very much 'tongue in cheek'. ????

My money's on him joining Pheu Thai. No?

It's like demanding the winning lottery ticket, after the numbers were drawn.

Wrong title...General should read politician (or dreamer?) He has a party in mind, he is just slowly amping up the pressure for them to grovel for him to come aboard, weather they want him or not. Definitely an agenda is in place.

Since he has so far copied all tricks in Thaksin's book, that would be the obvious choice.
