Hi everyone my name dave i live in london 56 and English hope i am in the right place if not sorry anyway me and wife will be moving to si rattana in 2019 to our house

i know i get a visa then convert to extension of stay for 1 year based on married to thai once in thailand i have the 400,000 to but in bank 2 mouths before applying for the extension of stay

what i wanted to ask the members with more knowledge than me as this will be my 1st long term visa is can i just get the extension of stay based on marriage to thai from london where i live or do i have to convert to it once in thailand and opened a bank account thank you for any help

You cannot apply for an extension at a embassy.

You will need to get a single entry non-o visa at the embassy in London. You can apply for it in person or by mail. Info can be found here. http://www.thaiembassy.org/london/en/services/7742

Then during the last 30 days of the 90 day entry the visa will allow you can apply for a one year extension of stay based upon marriage at your local immigration office.

The 400k baht will need to be in a Thai bank in your name only for 2 months on the day you apply for the extension.
