You cannot pay for the passport at Trendy. You have to complete a form to authorize the payment to charged to a credit or debit card when the application is processed in the UK.

From this webpage. https://www.passport.service.gov.uk/overseas/information/thailand/renew/adult

"Fill in a ‘Paying by credit card or debit card’ form for each passport you’re applying for and submit it with your application. Your credit or debit card will be charged in sterling.

You can use Mastercard, Visa, Electron, Diners Club and JCB."

I have not seen any reports of that being done.

Perhaps confusion with using an agent to do the application for you for a additional fee of 5000 baht.

Follow the advice from ubonjoe, it's spot on. I renewed my UK passport last month. Downloaded and completed the payment form, £118.51 including courier fee

The company key visa in pattaya will give you that facility if using their renewal service.

Alternative is a friend with a Uk debit or credit card, use their card details for the payment form and give them the cash if you wish them to remain a friend.

Using a thai debit card, requires it being correctly set up for online payments etc.
