Police seeking clues in gruesome killing of a Korean man

Featured Replies

Police in Prek Pnov district are investigating the gruesome killing of an unidentified Korean man after the upper part of a decomposed body was found in a bag thrown onto an empty plot of land in Kork Roka commune on Wednesday. District police chief Colonel Chin Kimthuy yesterday said that villagers found the bag containing the torso and head, which were wrapped in tape, at about 7pm on Wednesday and alerted police.

“According to a DNA test, the victim is a Korean and we suspect he was a man because the hair was short and the ears were not pierced, he said. “He was probably killed at least 15 days ago and the killers cut the body into two and put the upper portion in the black bag which the villagers found.”

Col Kimthuy added that police have yet to identify the victim or suspects. He urged those who have lost a family member to contact the police. Col Kimthuy said that the Korean’s remains are now being kept at a pagoda in the commune for further investigation.
