Beware phishing attempt on Line application, warn Thai police

Thai media Sanook have said that the Crime Suppression Division have warned about a fraudulent attempt to obtain personal data through the popular Line application.

This is known as phishing.

A page has been sent to users saying that if updates are not made users will be unable to chat using Line.

A phone number is requested initially and a link provided to give more information.

Sanook said the warning came from the CSD without going into further details themselves.

But the message was clear - don't respond to this attempt to hack your details.

Haha, this "data" is obviously only to be monitored by Line or Google.

Phishing...……..I'm sure many will be caught hook, line and sinker!
