February 18, 200719 yr hello just curious, I got a Tourist visa from chicago(I am a US citizen) which gave me 60 days in Thailand. I had to extend it , so i went to soi suan plu the Thai Immigration office for another 30 days for 1900 baht which gave me a total of 90 days. How many times can I extend it? and if I go what are my options? I want to extend it again for the second time for another 30 days but im not sure they will allow it(or just give me 7 days for 1900 baht) and tell me to leave the country. My friend said I can extend it up to two times and then I would have to leave for the border runs, so am I on my last upgrade to extend it? or should i do a boring visa run which is a drag. Im asking cause I know the visa rules has changed dramatically in the past year. thx for the help.
February 18, 200719 yr No you can only extend it one time per entry. If you have a double or triple entry you can extend it two or three times but not without doing the border run. There are only a few exceptions to this rule like being pregnant (in month > 8) or staying in hospital etc.
February 19, 200719 yr Author so basically i would have to do the border run? so theres no extending it for the second time to get 10-14 days? it is a single entry tourist visa. thx everytime i call the thai immigration i get the run around its almost impossible asking them directly, im better off on this forum ^0^

The best 'sure' option is a border run as you are allowed 30 days stamp. If your intention is to extend more times, I would suggest going to Penang and get another tourist visa to give you another total of 90 days without hassle.
February 19, 200719 yr You are not likely to receive more than 7 days and even that will probably require a ticket out which you do not have. You need to make a border run or obtain a new visa.
