Yes, I agree. I have said the 800k / 65k can't remain at those amounts forever. However, I disagree it will be grandfathered. I think current holders will be given a clear 12 months to comply. Example, say you are due in September 26, you will be given until September 27 to comply. All new applicants will need to comply immediately. It will be interesting to see if it is a small increase, to keep up with the higher coss of living, or if it will be a significant increase, as part of a broader policy. If it's a significant increase, it may force some to head off to Vietnam. The clock is ticking on agents. I know that. When they do ban the agents, that too may force some to head off to Vietnam. I bring in way over the 65k each month to cover myself. As a member said in another thread, they will eventually get around to being serious with taxing foreigners. Back to the OP, and putting all the above together, many may end up moving to Vietnam because they are either unable, or unwilling, to comply with Thailand's laws / rules regarding visas, if / when Thailand gets serious about enforcement.
