Went for my 4th marriage extension 11th Oct , told to come back 5th dec. As it was a holiday yesterday went back today, but was told not ready yet. They will call when it is ready. What is the position as regards overstay?

No position, you're good for as long as they have your passport.

Took them 2 months before they returned my passport 1 year.

The under consideration stamp in your passport allows you to stay until your extension is approved. The report back date on it is just that it does not end the under consideration period.

You are not on overstay. The "under consideration" stamp is an open end permission to stay until immigration has finished their "considerations".

Same happened to me in November, seems Bangkok has more applications than they can handle within their own timeline of 30 days

Not to worry for this as seen like it took longer time for the “ under consideration “ before we can get our new one year extension of marriage.

You're right, been a while since I last did it, memory going.

They just stamped a report back in 4 weeks, then stamped the same again when I reported back.

Thanks for your replies. No, they dont keep your passport.

Maybe there has been an upsurge in marriage extension applications, due to the income letters situation.
