Grace Millane: Man appears in court charged with backpacker's murder

A 26-year-old man has appeared in court in New Zealand charged with the murder of British backpacker Grace Millane.

Miss Millane disappeared in Auckland on 1 December - police ended their search on Sunday after finding a body on the outskirts of the city. The man, who cannot be named, is due back in court next month.

Court documents showed he had been living at the Citylife Hotel on Queen Street in central Auckland, which is where Miss Millane was last seen.

Why can’t he be named ?

He has already been named by some news media.

His name is : Scumbag.

While his name is neither here nor there, it surely is possible for media outlets to answer the question, 'why'????

Is he younger than 18? or is he the son of a brewery millionaire?

This is a lot more to this case that I can`t mention here.

Read the media and forum reports online then draw your own conclusions.

quoting from "The sun":

Judge Evangelos Thomas refused the man’s application for name suppression but was forced to order a delay in any publication for at least 20 working days pending the outcome of an appeal.

but anyway that doesn't apply outside of NZ

thedailymail named the man, but later corrected their content - but google cache still has it.

thetelegraph didn't pull their article with name and photo of the alleged perp.

Name has been withheld to protect the guilty.

wow! no issues when this happens in New Zealand???

but all the world and foreign media all over when it happens in Thailand.

double standards and nothing else.

such things happen all over the world. such as this example.

The guy has been arrested and been charged though , Two Maoris havent had it blamed on them .

It is also just one isolated case, rather than a series of unexplained deaths on a small island
