100 private hospitals agree to reveal their prices for medicines, treatment

Featured Replies

After having been overcharged for fluoride tablets for my son by a dentist at the Bumrungrad some 30 years ago I never ever bought any medicine from the hospital's pharmacy.
It is outrageously fresh to just label and pack medicine and charge the patient on the way out together with the medical treatment. Each and every time I ask for a prescription to which the pharmacist replies, that they already prepared and labelled the medicine. "Tough luck" is my answer while I look at the bill. Around the corner usually there are plenty of pharmacies including professional chains like D-Pharmacy or Fascino. Usually less than half, they still make a profit - me thinks!

  • Will this include the surcharges that they seem to apply for foreigners ?

  • I do not want to sound alarmist but be very careful. Ten years ago I went to Bumrungrad for a simple headache that had been around for a few days. I was sent to a neurologist who diagnosed early onset

Just recently I asked two or three hospitals the price of Heart surgery , they could not reply until they check this or that for a long time and called me back but still not sure 100% how much

And then they charge separately for each fiber in the paper used to clean your nose. That's how they pad the bills, all sorts of funky charges and fees. Prices for a single line won't probably differ much.
