Phuket’s coastal eyesore construction is legal, confirms mayor

PHUKET: The building under construction on the coastal road to Krathing Cape, north of Nai Harn Beach, is legal, Rawai Mayor Aroon Solos has confirmed.

 

The news comes as the final touches to the construction of the building are being made.

 

The construction caused an international uproar last year over the structure spoiling one of the best sea views that tourists from around the world come to Phuket to enjoy.

Ironic that this eyesore commenced construction at a time others were being demolished for not being approved by the local authority.

You can see here on Google maps how high they tried to build about 1 year ago.

They should have cut at least 1 more floor IMHO.

They will completely waste what was a very nice sea view.

It might be legal but the question is "Who made it legal"?  Somebody obviously made a decision to allow a building there but, naturally, we will never be allowed to know whose bad decision it was.

i lived in rawai. if it werent for violent racist thai neighbors, corrupt  racist officials and such we would never have moved! f u phuket!!
