BANGKOK, 18th December 2018 (NNT) - The Labor Minister, Pol. Gen. Adul Sangsingkeo, presided over a press conference on New Year's gifts to workers, employers, employees, and public members across Thailand.

The press conference, held on Monday at the Ministry of Labor, was attended by the Permanent Secretary for Labor, Jarin Chakkaphark, and other high-ranking officials.

Pol. Gen. Adul said the first measure extends social security coverage from an existing 10.5 million registered full-time employees to include over one million temporary workers, civil servants, association and foundation employees, and personnel of foreign organizations.

He said the Ministry of Labor has prepared over 14,000 technicians of various vocations to provide affordable maintenance and repair services to over 81,000 communities nationwide.

Thirty million workers covered under Article 33 and 39 of the Social Security Code can now seek medical care from any social security hospital with their national identification cards. Emergency care during the first 72 hours is also available at all hospitals.

In addition, the Ministry of Labor has also identified 95,000 vacancies for job seekers, consisting of 50,000 domestic positions and 45,000 positions abroad. These vacancies are advertised via the ministry's 500 kiosks called "Job Boxes".

The ministry has also created digital resources for learning 4.0 skills on YouTube video-sharing platform. For more information, please contact the 24-hour hotline at 1506.
