IT Certification training and tests

Featured Replies

I have been looking around for a location in Bangkok where you could take IT Certification training such as Security+, CISCO etc. Has anyone had any experience in this area>

You are correct Sir, I know there are a large number of them out there just wanted to know if anyone had any experience using one of the Tech cert courses or testing centers. Thank you for the information you posted.

Udemy is pretty good and has very good deals, lots of training from 6/7K THB for 320 THB

I think you should talk with companies for which you would like to work and ask them which certificates from which training centers they would like to see.

I work in IT and I met some people who know what they are doing and many who don't. And this has little to do with the certificates they have or don't have.

If someone has a certain certificate does often not mean he is an expert.

And if someone doesn't have a certain certificate that doesn't mean he is no expert.

Normally the technical guy who hires someone will be able to check what kind of knowledge level the job candidate has and if you know enough then there is a good chance you will get that job.

And if you know enough but they only want to hire you if you have this or that certificate they will likely tell you exactly that - and then you know what you need to get hired.

Also, Pearson VUE offers something called proctored exams, where you take the test at home, being watched (and listened to) via a webcam. I haven't tried this yet, but as I plan to take some Oracle exams in the coming months, I will most likely try this approach.
