We bought this TEFAL one from Lazada after our old one stopped.

Had this about a year and very pleased with it.

Had one of those the grinder blade seized up, then the blender blade ...... solid as a rock.

That's why I purchased the Philips, which has lasted a lot longer already.

We have not had good results with name brands - all have failed within about a year or so (and talking several decades of buying them).  Ordered not so cheap Chinese brand about 2 1/2 years ago and still working like new and can handle anything.

I bought our heavy duty Otto blender from Tesco when it was clearance priced.  My advice is to stay away from blenders with plastic or rubber drive gears. These will be the first parts to fail from use and even faster if you grind a lot of ice or frozen fruit. I recommend buying one with metal drive gears. Mine has a male gear sprocket on the blender bowl and a metal female socket in the base.

I've had the 600 watt Phillips for 3 years and use it often

Family members do the feeding - I do the drinking of results.

Big issue we had with the name brands, other than failing, was no source for spare parts to fix what should be minor issue, like needing new container, or top,

So I'm looking aroung the kitchen and see this new looking Philips HR2096 800watt blender.

MrsJ tells me it does not work ...to cut the story she took it to the repair shop ..it worked there ...brought it home and won't work ...back to the shop and it worked there...back home wont work...

Sure enough I try it won't work. I even wiggle the plug in the sockets...I try in several sockets ...our house is not that old and other things work in these sockets

I see that the plug prongs look a bit tarnished...so I emery cloth them ... low and behold it now works ..so I will put a new plug on ...

Happy .....

Tefal in thailand is also crap...we have one which is very weak...and the herb cutter was ruined after 10 minutes...

We gave the old one away, it was a Mamaru which we got for free while buying something else...it was very strong, noisy but i miss it...much better than the tefal
