yuiop
Someone please may help clarify this? I see agencies advertising "change of visa" service. If for example I get a tourist visa converted to NON O multiple entries (is it possible?), does it mean I have unlimeted 90 days entries for one year? No further actions needed? Just out/in every 90 days? Thanks
jacko45k
You cannot change a visa. What can be done is to convert a tourist visa or visa waiver entry into a non -Imm O entry for 90 days further stay. This is the step normally used to then proceed to an extension of stay.... eg a retirement extension. The word 'Visa' is likely not accurate in the agency window. A retirement extension (of permission of stay) is also very frequently referred to as a retirement visa, somewhat erroneously. yuiop
Thank you for your reply. Something is still not clear to me: if I get a conversion from tourist visa to NON O (multiple entry?) done by an agency, am I entitled to unlimeted 90 days entries for one year? You can only get a single entry visa at immigration. It is used as soon as it is stamped in your passport and a 90 day entry stamp is done. You can only apply for a multiple entry non-o visa at embassy or consulate. The change of visa status at immigration is done based upon qualifying for certain one year extensions of stay.
