Are regular chest X-rays safe?

Featured Replies

In the past I've had to get regular chest X-rays as part of the yearly WP process in Thailand. Soon Im going for a routine package check up and on the list is a chest X-ray.

Does anyone know if this radiation is harmful to the body?

thanks

Don't make it a habit and you will be fine.......

No radiation is safe. It is a lottery with large numbers and small prices.

That said you are always exposed to background radiation, and chest x-rays don't really add that much.

Buy more tickets, get more chances...

Radiation could be harmful if you are exposed to it over time.

I had 10 days of radiation to cure my testis cancer, and it always is on my mind if it could affect me later in life, but hopefully not.

A chest X-ray is a walk in the park compared to what I went through.
