mitz
A medical certificate is required for me to renew my retirement visa. I live on Koh Tao and the hospital here insists on an Xray being taken and various blood tests. I understand the medical certificate can only be issued by a government hospital which is fair enough but don't want to have unnecessary xrays and blood tests taken. If I were to go to the hospital in Koh Samui will this still be the case, I am hearing conflicting anecdotal information. Your help will be appreciated. BritManToo
Nope, no medical certificate is required for any retirement extension in Thailand. They probably want you to use an agent. Edited February 4, 2019 by BritManToo
glegolo
Did the HOSPITAL tell you what was needed for a retirement-extension?? NO I do not believe you at all... Why do you talk to the hospital at all?? Just go to the immigration you belong to and ask them... It is simple as that and there are no rules that says that you need any medical at all... glegolo

pontious
Then why does no one phone the hotline and ask why? If it is not a requirement how can they insist on it. Maybe TV with there contacts can help.
Justin Side
Samui is a maverick office that makes their own rules. Always have and always will. Edited February 4, 2019 by Justin Side
Lacessit
My experience with medical certificates in Chiang Mai is if you can walk and breathe, you'll get one.
