Need to ship legal docs to U.S.A. - Fastest method?

Featured Replies

My husband and I are flying to Bangkok from Samui to have a Power of Attorney form signed at the US Embassy. It's crucial that we get these docs back to the US as quickly as possible. Does anyone have any insight as to what would be the fastest method? I see that there are DHLs and a UPS in Bangkok but if anyone has experience doing this, I'd love to know!

It has been 25 years but when sold my house in USA documents were sent b/ws via DHL and believe it is still a recommended method.

I agree, DHL, FedEx, or UPS would be the fastest.

Great service with FedEx.

Last year, I mailed tax paperwork from the Surin Post Office using EMS to my CPA in Missouri, USA and it arrived in 5 days.

I've used FedEx for urgent papers and was satisfied.  Just make sure you have a good address and phone number for the person at the other end.

Update: We used DHL (the one in Bangkok at the BTS station) and it arrived in an astonishingly fast 3 days. I was very impressed.

Maybe FedEx for the US. DHL for anywhere else. DHL is probably delivered by FedEx in the US anyway.

My vote goes to DHL.

Many outlets in Bangkok. One on Thonglor etc, etc.

Actually DHL will come to your home (at least they did 20 years ago).  They would not accept my US prepaid mailer as payment but did use it for sending items back - but as I recall cost was not that great (at least not for home sale use).
