BANGKOK, 20th February 2019 (NNT) – The Ministry of Defense is asking members of the public, especially millennials and political activists, to express themselves constructively and in a peaceful manner.

Defense Ministry Spokesperson Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantravanich has lauded the Thai public for their interest in politics but warned of slander, defamation, satire, incitement, and distortion while asking all parties to learn from past lessons and move forward in the most peaceful and constructive fashion.

He said there have been attempts to use the royal institution for political gain, which is against the law and deemed unconstitutional, while some politicians have demonstrated poor leadership skills and employed underhand techniques such as falsely accusing their rivals of misdeeds, in order to win votes for themselves. If these tactics are used in the political sphere, the country will descend into division and segregation.

He confirmed that the military will always be ready to protect the nation, respect people’s decisions, heed opinions, and oversee national and public security related matters to safeguard the country and its people against all forms of threat.

Surely not? Poor leadership skills, underhand techniques; I can't image who would stoop so low as to use dirty tricks to gain an advantage.
