EC: Ballots are Available in Four Colours

The Election Commission (EC) has prepared ballots in four different colours for each region of Thailand.

Ballots prepared for March 24 voting, and March 17 advance voting in Thailand and overseas balloting are also different.

EC deputy secretary general Nath Laoseesawakool said on Thursday that officials would undergo intensive training on March 6 and 7 to run ballot stations.

He said staff would also pay special attention to “special voters”, such as the physically challenged.

In Bangkok, a voting station, for example, will be based at the Ban Bang Khae for the Elderly so as to provide convenience for older voters.

Four shades of yellow ?

If lightly shaded version of turquoise with a touch of lavender not included, I ain't voting!!!!

I don't suppose that the colour used in each area/or polling station will have any connection with the previous voting pattern at that location?

It would certainly "streamline procedures" during the 60 days counting and verification period!

One of the ideas behind a secret ballot is that there is no way of linking a ballot paper with an individual or group of voters.

Wouldn't this four in one color design reflect the situation best?

Positively brilliant. This cutting edge innovation will most assuredly thwart any rascally monkey business by….“state enemies”…cowardly attempting to subvert the democratic and 100% honest election.

Yep, this will be the easiest way to know what ballots not to count.

Fortunately there will be soldiers at the polling stations to provide clarification and prevent any misunderstandings. They will have nothing to do with the NCPO or Prayuth or the military.

And some think the elections are being rigged...?

So how are constituent votes calculated? Hell, even in South Africa, without colour coded ballot papers, we know who the majority group of voters votes for...most other democracies also have the data
