Sposal Visa When Not Married

Featured Replies

I am from Australia and have a non b visa and work permit. My boyfriend is from Cuba and until recently had the same kind of visa. Now he is no longer working and his visa and work permit will be cancelled. We have been currently living in Bangkok together for 2 years. Does anyone know if you can get some sort of spousal visa (even though we are not married) where he can be attached to my visa to save him doing visa runs as a tourist all the time until he finds other work?

His nationality makes things very difficult for travel to do visa runs.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I am not an expert in these matters, but to hazard a guess, I would say no.

He can not.

Only legal marriage between a man and woman is accepted in Thailand.

No common-law relationships.

Mind you I will be interested when someone challenges this with a Gay marriage certificate from overseas. :o

so this mean that if i will get married here, my husband will also get a non-b?I have a non b visa and a work permit and plan to get married here this year. is is possible to for my husband to be to get a dependent visa?if so, how and what are the requirements?

thanks

Filipina_26, your husband will not get a non-B visa, but he can get an extension of stay as your dependent. The criteria and requirements are listed in paragraph 7.19 of the National Police Office Order 606/2006, an English translation of which you can find here.
