I tried to find out about costs of cars - Vigo or Izuzu type trucks and was told that if you purchase from the Toyota or Izuzu dealer then the price is the same everywhere.

Are discounts possible?

I know I could get it cheaper if I didn't go with the main dealer but then you have to go back to that dealer for servicing everytime (or so I have been told).

Not much discount in price but dealers will give options away. Some will even pay for 1st class ins. for a year. Don't know what you mean by main dealer.

Go to as many dealers as you can and compare prices. Give the price to another dealer and ask him to beat it.

Last October I bought a Mitsu Triton, 2.5, 4 door, 4X4. First quote was 720k plus extras and insurance.

Finally got it after only a few hours visiting the dealers for 680k to include all the extras and a years 1st class insurance.

It can be done and my wife just loves to haggle.

Helps to flatter the dealer too. Tell him that you heard his service was the best and his dealership is the most convenient for you.
