Hello,

As a report, I was getting my one year extension stamp based on Thai Spouse application this morning (Mar 5, 2019) and decided to get the "scammy" (in my opinion) multiple re-entry permit stamp (no choice) after that, killing two birds with the same stone. As I was asked to pay THB 3,800 for the stamp, I handed over my debit card at the surprise of the officer who was astonished to see such a piece of technology to make a transaction, as opposed to the slack of THB 1,000 bank notes they are collecting in the desk drawer.

Long story short, after alerting all her colleagues of such a strange method of payment, she then tried to kneel under her desk. It turned out she was trying to plug in the card terminal, which seemed to never have been used before. It surely was the biggest effort of her day, as she tried to stand back up her overweighted body. Then, she tried to figure out how the card payment software worked on her computer. 15 minutes later, she tried to swipe my card and asked me what the messages the card terminal was getting, as she had literally no clue. So, after entering the ref # of the transaction, she abrutly stopped, as she could not move to the next step, and asked me to pay by cash. She apologized and "waiied" multiple times, as I had to go withdraw cash. She was polite and jovial, as opposed to other officers at Chaengwattana L counters, but was clueless to be honest.

I must admit I wasn't aware that card payment was even an option.

The folding stuff is always happily accepted.

I have never even considered that paying by card was an option. I learnt something new; that it is technically possible even though in reality it isn't possible.
