BEngBKK
Hi I had a refund from a company in Europe lately. Small amount of approx 800 B. The money was repaid to my visa card in Kasikorn Bank. Kasikorn bank changed me 300 B for receiving The money.. The 300 B is listed in the bankbook as commission. Is that normal in Thailand ? P.s Now I keep as much money as possible away from Thailand... Pib
Sounds like they treated it as a Visa Personal Payment. https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/rate/fee/ChargesDoc/ServicingFees_en_01012019.pdf
sanmyintmaung
Visa Personal Payment is a way to transfer money internationally without using SWIFT or routing number of the recipient bank. Only the 16 digits on Visa debit card of the recipient is used to transfer the money. I wonder if the rates charged on both ends are comparable to SWIFT transfers.
