The suspended construction of an underpass at the Faichai Intersection in Bangkok's Bangkok Noi district will be resumed soon and it will be completed in eight months, a deputy Bangkok governor said.

Chakkraphan Phiewngam, deputy governor of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, said the construction has earlier been suspended as the Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA)of Thailand needs to use the area for the construction of its Blue Line electric train.

Chakkraphan said the MRTA has finished its construction of the Bang Sue-Tha Phra railway section and it is in the process of handing over the area at the intersection back to the BMA so the construction of the underpass could be resumed soon.

He said the construction of the underpass was 52 per cent complete before it was suspended so the construction should be completed in about another eight months.
