I am coming to Thailand to receive a MS in Tropical Horticulture at Kasetsart University. I received my letter to late to apply for a student visa. I am now settled in but must go to Laos for the weekend to renew my visa. Upon return can I get a student Visa at the airport? What will be required and will I need to renew every 90 days? I was an immigration attorney in the US before so I enjoyed reading the Immigration Legislation posts on your website but they were vague as to actual procedures at immigration sites.

You need to apply for a non-immigrant ED visa OUTSIDE Thailand. That covers study such as yours. Talk to KU's student Centre. KU may have advice, but once you obtain that student visa one year at a time at Immigration. NEVER leave Thailand during the currency of that visa and return unless you hold a re-entry permit. KU should assist you. Talk to your Dean in the first instance. Make certain not to overstay either.
