A deputy inspector for traffic at Muang Trang Police Station was found dead in an apparent suicide at his police flat on Thursday.

Responding to a report at 9am, police found Pol Captain Narathip Saroj’s lifeless body with a gunshot wound to the head in his flat on Ruenrom Road. His 9mm pistol was found nearby.

Narathip lived alone on the fourth floor of the building.

Police suspect he committed suicide due to stress over a personal matter.

The block of police flats looks as if it could do with a coat of fresh paint!!

To paraphrase James Caan in "City of Ghosts", ..... "The whole of Bangkok needs a coat of paint" or in the case of this block, 2kgs of CX explosive.
