But the bus didn't get hit by anything and it didn't block the road.

Nailing the brakes hard and locking up all 4-wheels at the very last minute isn't evasive action.

The bus didn't accelerate through the intersection, he slowly nosed out, presenting a pretty big VISIBLE object to other traffic and stopped when he realized the muppet in the pickup belatedly discovered there was no gap to shoot and chose to wipe out some innocent bike riders rather than face plant in the side of the bus.

TBH, we can't tell what the layout of the road was to the right of the video (left of the bus). Judging by how slowly the bus was edging out before stopping, it is possible that there's a blind bend to the right (left of the bus). If the pickup came 'flying' around that corner, it may explain why the bus stopped mid-road well before any possible point of impact, the motorbike riders had no time to react and the screech of the pickup's tires being braked hard only being heard in the last few seconds.

the bus didnt get hit because the pickup took evasive action,

and are you blind or dumb on purpose ? the bus blocked the pickups lane and was carrying on to purposefully block the rest of the lanes.

yes, agree he should have aimed at the driver on the bus

and hopefully take out the culprit for good

Excessive speed by the pick up and not paying attention as to what was happening on the road in front of him....bus pulls out slowly and with caution....happens often, hopefully the injuries to the innocent couple on the bike are not too serious

Another day on the roads here...sadly

Yep excessive speeding, because he gets paid by the trip. More trips more money, and someone innocent always has to pay with their lives in the name of greed.

The bus didn't get hit because the pick-up driver had quick reflexes.

what got into the bus driver when he thought he could accelerate trough the intersection in a timely manner anyway?

He had the largest vehicle, and thought he was the king of the road. They do this all the time. Revoke his DL!

Not dumb and not blind but thanks for asking.

The bus had already STOPPED when the pickup, with all 4 wheels locked slid sideways, well clear of the front of the bus and hit the motorbike. The pickup driver was going to shoot-the-gap and suddenly realized there was a motorbike in the way. Epic fail.

Hard braking is not evasive action but once your wheels are locked, you can't avoid bugger all.

The bus didn't get hit because the pick-up driver had SLOW reflexes.

If in doubt, ask the poor buggers on the motorbike.

My 2 cents worth.

The bus was proceeding from a stop sign and did not have the legal right of way (same as the bike), he then pulled out onto the larger road causing the accident.

The pick up truck driver should have ceded only because hitting the bus would have caused him and his passengers serious injury.  The truck in trying to avoid the bus braked too hard and locked up his front wheels which caused him to lose control and veer sideways.  Had he braked lighter and kept control he may have gotten around the bus and not plowed into the poor motor bike riders.

After over 130K KMs on my bikes in Thailand I learned not the legal reasoning and laws but how the Thai's really drive and it boils down to the "LAW OF THE JUNGLE".

Pedestrian cedes to motor bikes and all others.

Motor bikes cede to cars and larger.

Cars cede to heavy trucks and buses.

Trucks and buses cede to anything bigger than them.

Law of the jungle helps to extend your life and is less painful!

The bus driver should have stopped and rendered aid as he was the main contributing factor.  Many drivers (bus and commercial) carry some type of weapon so I doubt the bus driver was "afraid" - he just didn't want to lose time from his schedule or get caught up in things.
