Grizboy
Hello! I am applying for a Thai Visa (Non-Immigrant Visa O-A). In Nov 2017 I received a Thai DUI I blew .07 in Phuket. Went to court & paid my fine (about 3K Baht). I am applying from Canada. Would this show up or affect my visa application? Any1 know anything about this? ubonjoe
It certainly will not show up on a Canadian criminal background check needed for the OA via application. Not sure it would even show up on a Thai police clearance certificate since it is considered as a misdemeanor here.
Popular Post BritTim
I do not believe it will impede getting the O-A visa in any way. I also believe you will be allowed to enter Thailand, as there is no indication that you were blacklisted as a result of this offence. Some, however, will believe that Thailand is too lenient on DUI convictions, and this is one of the reasons for the horrendous bloodshed on Thai roads. Please do not do this in future. I do not want to become a statistic.
