Sangkhlaburi Hotels

Featured Replies

Looking for some recommendations in Sangkhlaburi. Not too high end(ie resort, not interested in swimming pools and that type of extras) just good basic hotels for one or two nights.Maximum spend 1500 baht per night but hope to spend less..Want to be able to park the car and walk/motorbike taxi to the main attractions,Bridge, temples , market etc.Booking.com etc are not very helpful.

Any personal suggestions, thanks.

Well, with a car you have more choice, but its quite some time ago I was there-by bus, and the choice was minimal to near zero. There is the usual standd Thai style HTl in ''town''-its just a market with some houses for the Isany Thai govmt workers and 2 bekpek-style guesthouses. ANY of the few local motosydrivers will know. One of these is one attached to a ''orfans''house, often visited by Singy's doing good deeds and longer time staying volunteers. None of these would be over 1000. At that time there was not even the usual 7, but only an imitation thing. Town can be seen/done in an hour or 2, but the outlying ''attractions''-spots are spread out.

Seems there are some more upmarket ''resort''style bungalows etc spread out in the distance and thus requiring own transpo.

a couple for times. Not bad, good Thai food, but you will need to use your own car to visit the area as it is at the end of the town.

Also you can get a long tail boat to pick you up from the resort.

Safe travel and enjoy Kan.
