That’s what I saw too plus the 800k plus in the petition to impeach the EC. Kind of misplaced definition of a ‘nothing burger’. Maybe it’s the bifocal or cataract. sjaak327
We already knew whom the EC is serving exactly. It's not democracy or the Thai electorate. So is it any wonder they handled the elections in the way they did. They are doing what they are told to do by the NCPO. Nothing more and nothing less. The election and the environment in which they were held were not exactly free and fair. with the NCPO setting the stage in such a way that there never was a level playing field. Thai people deserve better, and they should make the improvements if they choose Yes, your're right. But that much hyped up "mother of democracy" the UK, despite Magna Carta, it's Civil War, etc etc only really started being democratic after WW1. Many soldiers who fought and died for "their betters" did so without ever having the right to vote. Women didn't get the vote until after this cataclysmic change to European and world society. Even the US, with the wise founding fathers, didn't give women the vote until a similar time, abolish slavery until after a terrible civil war and former slaves and their offspring were then illegally denied votes for many years. So people from these "new democracies" shouldn't preach to Thailand but perhaps, given the current situations in the UK, USA, France, Australia and Canada worry more about this paragon of democracy called Western democracy. Seems to be in decay and being revealed for what it has sadly become, corrupt.

Protect the elite, the super wealthy, those that are well connected, the police, and those that are in power (the army). Who is the election commission composed of? No doubt the elite. So, what are they trying to accomplish? It does not take an MIT grad to figure this one out, and determine why this is taking so long. Another angle, pretty much every election commission for the past 2 decades or even more has been highly critized. Seems to me there's an obvious question; why so many continuing failured, it can't just be coincidence? Smaller detail, the failure to get the votes fron New Zealand to the appropriate polling places has already been well publicized and there seems to be no result of an investigation. On top of that on a Twitter newsfeed this morning it's mentioned that 2 dozen bags with the overseas ballot papers despatched from Bangkok to the appropriate polling places were undelivered, mostly because of confusing addresses. How can that be? An utter disgrace.

Western democracy is facing severe challenges but none have displayed propensity towards coup as a solution.

4MyEgo
So what does his highness think of all of this, been pretty quiet ? Me thinks the only way out of this for Thailand, is for the people to rise, and we saw what happened back in 2014, maybe the next time they would have the army on the people's side, and if that happened, well Thailand could become a free nation with democratically elected PM's without the odds stacked against them. I just hope when the time comes, soon soon, there is no blood shed, although it's good to dream.
