RTP 100% ready for whatever Songkran throws at them!

Sanook reported that the Royal Thai Police were 100% ready for Songkran.

 

All leave has been cancelled and the RTP chief General Chakthip Chaijinda has ordered all men under his command to ensure a safe and crime free holiday for all. 

 

All the usual suspects were mentioned in the story that spoke of crackdowns in the lead up to the Thai New Year festival and then strict enforcement during the festival itself. 

 

Opportunists out to commit crime would be arrested. 

 

Drink drivers would face the full wrath of the law. 

 

Those involved in drugs, gambling, guns and other crime would face serious trouble. 

 

Those involved in the sex industry could expect investigation. 

 

Checkpoints and crackdowns will abound.

 

Immigration were ordered by the chief to be especially vigilant on those coming and going to Thailand over the next few weeks. 

 

All leave has been cancelled.

 

The measures are so that the public are safe and sound and can enjoy the festival, reported Sanook.

Oh, the RTP will ready alright for whatever is thrown at them  They will be hoping it is cash from motorists bribing them. And wow all leave is canceled. Some of these cops are on leave 365 days per year because they never seem to be doing their job. Just a big picnic for some of them.

100% ready to racket for tea money enforce the law,  mainly at the road blocks.
