I'm heading back to AU for a few months and I want to obtain a retirement visa from the Thai Embassy whilst in AU rather than renewing my extension of stay based on retirement here in TH.

Just making sure that the Thai Embassy in Canberra will accept a verification letter from my THAI bank that I have had a >800,000b balance for the previous 3 months, as I do not have that amount in my AU bank?

If yes, is there is an expiry date of the TH bank's letter?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

I suggest you contact the embassy in Canberra or the official consulate in Sydney and ask them if they will accept the 800k baht in a Thai bank account to apply for a OA visa. Their websites do not state whether it will accepted or not. Many state that it has to be in a bank in the country where you are applying.

Contact page for embassy. http://canberra.thaiembassy.org/Home/Contact
