A-O Visa Questions

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 1 year multi entry A-O visa valid from 12 Oct 2018-11 Oct 2019. I entered Thailand on 01 Nov 2018 and was given permission to stay in Thailand until 31 Oct 2019.

I will be in the UK between 30 Apr 2019 - 30 May 2019 before going back to Thailand which, I hope, will enable me to stay in Thailand until 29 May 2020. Is this correct?

Also, I will be in the UK between 01 Oct - 21 Oct. As these dates straddle my  Visa expiry date do I need to get a Visa re-entry permit in order to enter Thailand and stay until 29 May 2020

Thanks in advance

I assume you meant to write that you have a OA visa since a AO visa does not exist.

When you return from your trip in May you will stampe into the country until 29 May 2020.

You need a reentry permit to keep your entry valid if you enter the country after October 11th.

You could gain almost 4 months of stay if you did a border hop to get a new one year entry shortly before your trip in October and get a re-entry permit for that entry.

Correct to both questions.

Thanks very much. I will be in Europe for the summer of 2020 so I won’t need the extra 4 months but thanks for the suggestion.
